Matthew 1:23 "Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel, which is translated, "God with us."
Immanuel, or Emmanuel means "God with us." It is a name of hope and salvation no matter how desperate our condition.
Christ's name, Immanuel, is the believer's unconditional guarantee that God is sovereign, ever-present (Psalm 46:1), and will meet the needs of His people. It is a reminder of God's never-ending presence. Those who place their faith in Christ will not be forsaken.
Immanuel is God saying "I will not leave you. I am always with you."
This means we can move forward in our darkest, loneliest, and overwhelming times. Do not quit.
"God with us" is as much a promise as it is a challenge: When the worst confronts you, trust that JESUS, Immanuel is with you. Christ never fails and always saves.
