Yesterday I was honored to be the guest speaker at True Gospel Pentecostal Church's "Shepherd's Day."
Their church hosts the program every 5th Sunday to honor their pastor, Bishop Reuben Graham.
It was my first time preaching since last September. In keeping with the Shepherd's theme, I preached about Jesus: The Good Shepherd from John 10:1-15.
Jesus describes Himself as the "Good Shepherd" of His sheep. That means He will guide, protect, provide, lead, love, and lay down His life for His sheep- those who trust Him with their lives.
Preaching yesterday was an awesome experience that I do not take for granted. My heart was warmed to see so much family (church and biological) and friends in the audience yesterday.
Plus, when I spoke, I knew it was the LORD speaking through me. As much as I tried to stick to my notes, He gave me words and thoughts that I, in my simple-minded nature, couldn't come up with on my own.
I'm grateful for God's presence and His love for His people. Lives were given to the LORD and people, from what I've been told, needed the Word that was preached.
Christ was glorified and that's all that matters. Mission accomplished.
